January Is Full Of Fairs, Festivals and Fun In Southwest Florida

Winter With Us In Southwest Florida And Live Your Dream

When you are looking for an escape from the all of the cold in the north, Southwest Florida should be on your radar. Our mild temps, white sand beaches, lush tropical foliage and wide range of seasonal fairs, food, art festivals and outdoor sporting events, all provide relief from the brutal northern winter conditions. January is a month filled with such events and we have provided a few of our favorites from around the area, to tempt you to join us here in paradise!

Punta Gorda Area

Punta Gorda is a historical town with an Old Florida look and feel, filled with up and coming restaurants and quaint shops all within a very walkable downtown square. They are also home to Fishermen's Village, where music and great seafood are the rhythm of the day, and several parks like Laishley Park and Ponce de Leon Park all hosting multiple seasonal events. Located just a short drive south from Harborside El Jobean, several events are happening this weekend, including the Charlotte Harbor Chilifest and Beers and Blues Festival at Laishley Park. You can learn more here

For other area fun festivities check out the Punta Gorda Chamber events calendar here.

Port Charlotte Area

Harborside El Jobean is right at ground-zero for all of the activities happening in Port Charlotte, which also has a very full and busy January calendar. The Charlotte County Fair starts this weekend and runs through February 4th. It's located less than 5 minutes away from Harborside right on 776, across from the Charlotte Sports Park. Check out the fair schedule here

Englewood Area

Within a 15-20 minute drive north on 776, you will arrive in another historic town, Englewood. This area is rich in Old Florida history and architecture, especially in the "Dearborn" area of town. Lemon Bay is a very popular area to explore as are the beaches of Englewood. Home to many seasonal fairs and festivals, including the very well attended Englewood Seafood & Music Festival held this weekend, January 27-28th at Pioneer Park on west Dearborn Street. Check out their website and view the schedule of events for the weekend!

As you can see, lots of activity happening here on the Gulf Coast of Florida! Check back next week for other area activities and fairs coming up in February and the weeks ahead. We want you to "Winter With Us" at Harborside El Jobean!
